“I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.” ~ Song of Solomon 7:10 

I enjoy the privilege of having four of my grandchildren live with me. Being with them and watching them grow is such a joy and delight to my heart. As with all eleven of my grandkids, they truly are the apples of my eye! And yet as I walk through the door and see them scattered around the room, there are many times when I greet them but they do not even acknowledge my presence. They are engrossed in a book or a game, or they are huddled around the tablet watching one or the other play some game. My presence barely registers on their radar, so I have to speak to them two or three times before they notice me. It is not that they do not love me because they surely do. It is just at that moment they are focused on something that fascinates them more than I do. 

Sometimes we equate the Lord and His love for us with that of the people in our lives. We think that he is far more concerned with other matters or other people and we must find some way to force Him to see us and acknowledge us. Biblically, nothing can be farther from the truth than that notion! 

His desire is towards us! He is far more focused on us than we are on Him! He desires to be our Savior, our Friend, our Comforter, our Guide, our Provider, and our All in All! We do not have to beg, cajole, or force him to do any of those things.  

Let this powerful truth sink into your soul today! His desire is towards YOU!
