Love, Joy, Peace...
He Knows Your Name
And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.” ~ Genesis 22:1
Throughout the Bible we find ordinary people who came into direct contact with their Creator. He who made all things and by whom all things consist, took the time to shift His gaze from controlling all of Creation to focus upon a man or woman who now had His full attention. And out of the multiplied billions of people who have lived on this earth, the God of Heaven knew/knows the names of each and every one of them!
I think of the surprise Zacchaeus must have felt when the Savior stopped beneath the sycamore tree in which he had found a place to see above the crowds, and said, “ Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.” Out of that huge throng of people, Jesus knew where he was, what he was, and who he was! Jesus knew his name! Zacchaeus was unimportant to the multitude and even despised by many of them, but in the eyes of Jesus, Zacchaeus mattered!
There are times when many people feel as if they are forgotten or that they do not really matter. They see themselves just as one more faceless, nameless person who is lost in the crowd. But in the eyes of God, Who sees beyond the crowd, they are the one for whom Jesus died! Jesus never saved multitudes or crowds. He saved individuals.
I have been meditating on this thought for the past few days. How astounding to me, that the Lord God Almighty cares enough about me to know my name. And He knows YOUR name as well. You are that important to Him!
You matter to God! Never lose sight of that fact!
